Master of Business Administration [MBA]

Master of Business Administration (MBA) is an integrative programme designed to provide an advanced course in management for those seeking senior positions in industry, commerce and public services. The core subjects of the MBA are aimed at developing knowledge and skills in fundamental management disciplines. The course involves participation in group work with course members from many different industrial, commercial, geographical and cultural backgrounds, and is aimed at improving the decision making abilities of participants and producing managers of the highest quality.

NOTE:-

Candidate opting for Iternational Business as specialization has to pay an additional amount of 1500/- along with the course fee in 3rd and 4th semester

Objectives: The course is geared towards realizing the following objectives

1. The course aims to develop the essential management skills required to meet and participate in the increasingly international business environment.

2. It builds upon the essential core management modules allowing greater emphasis in elective modules on management.

3 .To provide intensive theoritical and practical knowledge of management.

5. To provide access to a broad base of knowledge in core managerial skills.

Eligibility: 3 year graduation or equivalent

Min Duration: 2 years (4 Semesters)

Max Duration :4 years

Semester Fee:RS 13,150/- per semester inclusive of exam fees or as revised from time to time..

Provision for lateral entry to second semester of MBA:

Eligibility:
1. BBA/BBM from a recognized University.
OR
2. 3- year graduation with PGDBA from AICTE recognised institution.
OR
3. 3-year Graduation with 6-month Management Diploma from an institution and minimum 1-year work expirence thereafter.
OR
4. 3-year Graduation and minimum 3-year work experience thereafter

For candidates opting for Healthcare Services specialisation:
MBBS / BDS / B.Pharma / BHMS / BAMS / BUMS / BSSM / BVSc / 4-year graduation in Allied Health Science / Life Science graduates from a recognized University

Additional fees: In addition to the normal fees, an additional lateral entry fee of Rs6200/- (inclusive of examination fees) is payable by students opting for this scheme.

Note: In this lateral entry scheme, students have to appear and pass the first semester examination. Books of first semester will be supplied by the Institute and internal assessment will be completed at the Institute.

Provision for Re- entry to Third Semester of MBA:

Eligibility: PGDBA of SMU (Revised FALL 2007)

Min Duration: 1 year (2 Semesters)

Max Duration: 2 years
